I just heard from an online business broker that amazon just put in the TOU that to transfer an amazon store (sell it) it now will go into a holding tank for 6 months while amazon checks it to see if it will approve the sale/transfer. During that time you cannot SELL anything! They have effectively rendered us unable to sell our store! Do you have any thoughts or comments about this? I’d love to hear them. All the more reason to do your own thing and not rely on Amazon.

As Pharmapacks’ sales mushroomed, so did the complaints. Part of this was growing pains–it took a while to figure out how to fill so many orders fast without screwing up. But complainers are a naturally occurring species in e-commerce, and Pharmapacks now employs 16 customer-service reps, who field almost 200 concerns over the phone and by email every day. They write back to all customer inquiries within 24 hours–one of the key metrics Amazon tracks in its customer-service ratings. Two employees use a software program called Trustpilot to scroll through every 1-, 2-, and 3-star review the company receives and give each of them special attention. If a customer remains unsatisfied and won’t change the low mark, the reps appeal to Amazon’s Seller Support group–the judge, jury, and executioner in all customer-seller disputes–with detailed objections. Thanks to such micro-advocacy, Pharmapacks had more than 3,300 low ratings removed in 2015 alone. To put that into perspective, Pharmapacks products have been rated more than 280,000 times–and its Amazon rating is 4.9 stars.
However, more than 100 current and former Amazonians — members of the leadership team, human resources executives, marketers, retail specialists and engineers who worked on projects from the Kindle to grocery delivery to the recent mobile phone launch — described how they tried to reconcile the sometimes-punishing aspects of their workplace with what many called its thrilling power to create.
Amazon’s shipping rates with the major carriers are so low that, even with the additional charges for picking and packing, their total shipment cost can be lower than negotiated carrier rates for many mid-market firms. This can be true even for shipments within a company’s own state.

Now I’m in Amazon seller central, and I’m just setting up a new shipping plan. So firstly you can choose to either create a new plan, or add an existing plan. Adding to an existing shipping plan means maybe you’ve got two products, you want to send them both in at the same time. When it comes to sending in the second product, you just click “add to an existing shipping plan” and it gives you the ability to choose an existing shipping plan that you’ve already set up. Otherwise, just create a new shipping plan. The ship from address here is where you put in your suppliers address. So just ask your supplier for what their address is, or it should have it on the invoice or on the website. Now if you’re just sending in the one type of product, you want a case packed product.

Amazon does charge the seller a slight commission that is placed on each order you sell that is automatically taken off your account upon the buyer’s purchase from your account’s funds from the purchase itself.
Right now, selling on Amazon is almost too easy. All you have to do is find a product with good margins/demand, list it on Amazon, and it will eventually sell because Amazon’s audience and reach is so vast.
Not all suppliers do that but you should ask and it’s a way to get the small order for free! Then, ask your supplier: “Can you please use your express air shipping account” when requesting a quote. That way you get your products in 3 to 5 days.
KHAN: So the post office is losing money through doing business with Amazon. There was a recent report by Citigroup that estimated that – right now, basically, the post office charges Amazon around $2.00 per package, and Citigroup estimated that a more accurate cost estimate would be something like 41 percent greater. I think the fact that, you know, Amazon is able to do business at very favorable terms to Amazon and to terms that the post office is losing money on, there is truth to that.
You could look into Amazon’s FBA service which makes it available to a very wide audience (as you will ship your stock to Amazon and they will be the ones packing and shipping it). People prefer to buy stuff if it is sent by Amazon and if it is FBA, then it allows Prime members to get it quicker also.

As organizations get larger, there seems to be a tendency to use the heavy-weight Type 1 decision-making process on most decisions, including many Type 2 decisions.
