Now, I mentioned a moment ago about the three different buckets that people build wealth within. Now, I want to take some time to dive into each of the three buckets, one at a time, to share the best ways to become a millionaire using that strategy.
It’s a marathon, not a sprint, to become a millionaire. Getting to the finish how to become a millionaire as a programmer requires putting one foot in front of the other every day and every week for decades. When times get tough or unexpected personal expenses arise, it can be easy to rationalize missing a monthly contribution. But one week or one month can quickly turn into one or two years if you don’t maintain discipline. A solid financial plan is nearly guaranteed to get you to the million-dollar mark, but the plan is only as effective as the person following it.
Tax Benefits. The final wealth generator from real estate are the tax benefits associated with owning property in the United States. The U.S. government likes real estate investors and uses the tax system to encourage our purchase and leasing of properties. From extra tax write-offs to the lack of “self-employment tax” to the 1031-exchange and more, real estate investors can pay significantly less tax than other business owners, using the extra cash to buy more properties or pay of the loan faster — helping to build greater wealth.
One way to get a Millionaire to mentor you is to pay them. Some mentors and coaches love to teach people and are in the business of helping you stay accountable or helping you discover things that you can’t see. Millionaires have coaches for everything, relationships, business, physical trainers etc…
“These individuals are some of the brightest investment managers of all time, possessing unique skill sets that have made them extremely successful at managing money and exploiting market opportunities…. In essence, they are capable of seeing the markets in ways that most of us simply cannot imagine, and it is this rare vision that allows them to determine whether opportunities have value, thereby creating infinite windows to make money. That is what makes them great hedge fund managers.” (Strachman 2008, 16)
And there are millions who have journeyed successfully down the wealth path and have become millionaires. Many of them started in worse situations than you find yourself in today. Just look at Mark Cuban (Shark Tank judge and owner of the Dallas Mavericks), Larry Ellison (the billionaire founder of Oracle), Howard Schultz (CEO of Starbucks), Oprah Winfrey, and countless other examples. They rose from poverty to become exceptionally wealthy.
Many national currencies have, or have had at various times, a low unit value, in many cases due to past inflation. It is obviously much easier and less significant to be a millionaire in those currencies, thus a millionaire (in the local currency) in Hong Kong or Taiwan, for example, may be merely averagely wealthy, or perhaps less wealthy than average. In 2007 a millionaire in Zimbabwe could have been extremely poor.
The same is true for whatever method you use to build wealth. Whether you choose the personal finance method, the business method, the real estate method, or all three — set aside time each and every day to work your system.
Million-dollar math: According to Uber, the median wage for an UberX driver working at least 40 hours a week in New York City is $90,766 a year and $74,191 a year in San Francisco. That means 10 years of work in NYC could earn UberX drivers $1 million. It’d take 13.5 years in San Francisco. That’s without the cost of owning an operating a car built in, however.
Many companies pay you for rating local pizza shops. You just have to rate the place on the quality of their pizza and note their delivery time. For this, you can get a free pizza, plus $5. Just register on Trendsource and get started.
4. “Be the Bank” income opportunity. Simply help others with their upfront credit enhancement costs and get 2% of their funding! $250,000 in funding for the client means $5,000 for you! Every 45-60 days times as many clients as you want (we have many). We call this the “Pay it forward” program. Average ROI for helping these lucky people is around 100% ROI or 1200% a year! Everyone wants and needs money!
Don’t neglect the mundane but essential parts of running a business, like timesheets, tax, petty cash, invoicing, etc. Do them with clockwork regularity or employ someone who is capable to deal with these things.
Set goals, create routines that support those goals, and then ruthlessly track your progress. Fix what doesn’t work. Improve and repeat what does work. Refine and revise and adapt and work hard every day to be better than you were yesterday.

Get started. If you want to become a millionaire, you need to decide to do it and get started. If you are not be able to save money right now because of debt or other financial obligations, you should work on those issues first. A good place to start is with Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps. This is a tried and true method for setting up an emergency fund, paying down debt, and beginning your investments. Once you have that started, you can begin your million dollar journey.
EQ includes our self-awareness (knowing our own feelings), self-management (controlling our feelings), motivation, empathy (the skill of understanding other people’s emotions and reacting to them appropriately) and our social skills (negotiating the needs of others with your own and applying empathy).

8. Ivar Kreuger, the “Match King,” was a Swedish businessman who built his company on completely fabricated assets ($250 million) and ended up shooting himself (although rumors persist that his death was a case of murder).
Getting rich is not a complex process. You don’t even have to be a genius, Siebold says. It’s about creating a value proposition, and the bigger value you create for your customer, company or individual, the richer you get.
Benjamin, I plan on using my blog to help keep me on track as well. In fact, I wanted to name my site “Million Dollar Journey,” but that domain was purchased a few months before I started blogging. I’m happy that Frugal Trader ended up with it though, because he has a great site! 🙂
The key point to remember is that if Tepper had bet wrong and the Fed hadn’t ridden to the rescue, then his hedge fund—and most hedge funds—would have lost billions. In fact, the bailouts saved the entire hedge-fund industry from utter collapse.
The equity you’ve accumulated gives you options that can increase your wealth. You can use payments from a reverse mortgage—or money from selling your home, if you plan to downsize—to supplement retirement income. Then you can let other investments grow or delay taking Social Security benefits. If you wait to claim benefits until after your full retirement age (between 66 and 67, depending on when you were born), you’ll earn a delayed-retirement credit worth 8% a year for each year you delay until age 70.
